Standard filter EcoBlue ISO 16890 Coarse 70% (G4)
All Nilan residential ventilation units are supplied as standard with 2 EcoBlue ISO 16890 Coarse 70% filters, one in the outdoor air intake and one in the extract air.
The EcoBlue panel filters are made from polyester fibres consisting of approximately 60% recycled PET fibres and 40% new (virgin) PET fibres. This provides a more resource-conscious filter solution without compromising filtration performance.
The filters protect the ventilation unit's components from dust and dirt, which is why it is important to replace them regularly as needed. The filter compartments in Nilan ventilation units are designed to allow easy vacuum cleaning and wiping with a damp cloth when changing the filters.
A clogged filter restricts the airflow, reducing the performance of the ventilation system and potentially resulting in poorer indoor air quality. If the ventilation unit is equipped with a heat pump that also produces domestic hot water, a dirty filter can also reduce hot water production and, in the worst case, result in insufficient hot water.
When installing the filter, it is important to orient it correctly: The blue side is the dust side of the filter and must face the unfiltered air, while the white side is the clean air side.
