Nilan and Urban Energy enter partnership

The purpose of the visit was to sign a commercial agreement, marking the result of a close development process in which the two parties have jointly created a customised version of Nilan’s popular Compact P2 GEO for modern geo-network projects.

From Nilan, CEO Peter Sønderskov, CSO Brian Hansen and Project Manager Lars Bek participated.

A solution developed for the residential areas of the future

For many years, Nilan has developed all-in-one solutions that combine ventilation, heat recovery and heat pump functions in one compact unit. As the basis for our collaboration with Urban Energy, we further refined this technology to ensure optimal performance in residential areas supplied via a geo-network.

The customised version of the Compact P2 GEO brings several functions together in one unit: an integrated ground source heat pump, a domestic hot water heat pump, and comfort cooling for the homes. The unit features an adaptive humidity sensor that adjusts operation to ensure a healthy and comfortable indoor climate all year round. It also provides balanced ventilation with both active and passive heat recovery, and the energy from the extract air is reused for heating domestic hot water and preheated supply air. The result is an efficient, stable, and modern system tailored for geo-network installations.

Urban Energy will play a key role in bringing the solution to the Danish market, and the first project is already underway.

“The collaboration has been characterised by strong technical expertise and a shared ambition to create a simple and energy-efficient solution for new residential areas,” says Project Manager Lars Bek.

Making design and installation easier

The new Compact P2 GEO version simplifies design and installation and supports stable, energy-efficient operation:

  • One combined solution that makes installation and project planning simpler
  • Stable operation and efficient utilisation of geo-network energy
  • A strong focus on a healthy indoor climate and balanced ventilation
  • Developed in close dialogue with the market

In short: a well-designed solution that is easy to work with and matches the needs of new residential areas with shared energy systems.

What is a geo-network?

A geo-network is a shared ground source heating system in which homes are connected to the same network of buried pipes. This provides:

  • High operational reliability
  • Strong energy efficiency
  • Easier installation and maintenance
  • A stable and consistent energy supply to all homes

This makes the technology particularly attractive for new residential developments and larger housing projects.

Thank you for a strong partnership

Nilan would like to extend its sincere thanks to Urban Energy for a professional and constructive collaboration throughout the entire process. We also wish to thank the many dedicated Nilan employees who contributed across the organisation and helped bring the project from idea to finished product.
