Nilan CO₂ Sensor Kit – optimal comfort and home protection

Avoid overly low humidity

One of the key benefits of Nilan’s new CO₂ Sensor Kit is its ability to prevent humidity levels from dropping too low, thereby improving the indoor climate. The sensor automatically adjusts the air exchange when no one is at home, which not only minimises energy consumption but also protects the home from excessive dryness. This also helps preserve furniture and flooring, reducing the risk of warping and cracks.

The CO₂ sensor reacts quickly to changes in CO₂ levels and adjusts the ventilation rate accordingly. This is especially useful when guests are in the house, further enhancing the comfort and convenience the sensor provides.

Energy performance calculation

Regulations now allow the base ventilation rate to be reduced – in some cases by up to half – when using demand-controlled ventilation, provided that air quality and humidity remain at satisfactory levels. This update offers greater flexibility and improved efficiency.

In line with building energy performance calculations, it is permitted to include the reduced airflow and SEL for up to 30 hours per week. This change enables ventilation to be adapted precisely to demand while ensuring full compliance with current standards.

Improved heat recovery efficiency
By reducing the air exchange rate, the heat recovery efficiency is improved – a particular advantage when energy prices are high. The increased efficiency can result in significant savings on home heating.
