Nilan takes the next step in the green transition

At Nilan, the green transition is more than just words. We tackle it one product and one process at a time – benefitting both the environment and overall costs. After all, sustainability also requires responsibility – including financial responsibility. Without the means to invest in greener initiatives, there can be no real progress.

Our heat pumps already support society’s green transition while reducing heating bills – helping both the environment and the economy. Nilan units are designed to provide maximum efficiency with minimal energy use and long service life. The next step is to refine our trusted systems component by component.

We always develop new initiatives together with our experienced employees, who know the product requirements and performance inside out. Once these foundations are in place, we involve our suppliers to bring in the widest possible expertise. This is exactly how our new Greencycle panel filter was developed.

“Together with our supplier, we defined the requirements for the panel filter and explored the market for suitable materials. It’s important for Nilan to use environmentally responsible components, but it’s just as crucial that the units perform optimally to keep energy consumption down,” explains Brian Hansen, Sales Director at Nilan.

The new panel filter is made from recycled material containing 50% plastic bottles. It is a vital component in any Nilan unit and, when replaced as recommended, helps maintain a healthy indoor climate. It is the first Nilan filter designed with circular economy principles in mind – but it won’t be the last.

“This development will continue with the same focus on recycled materials in our other filters and components. Until now, our focus has been on the long lifetime of our units and the ability to replace individual parts – which is one of the foundations of a circular economy. Now we are raising the bar. Our goal is to increase the use of recycled materials in our units, without ever compromising the high quality that Nilan is known for,” concludes Brian Hansen.
